to a cat named Frankenstein

Laying on my bed, eating more cherries than you probably should in one sitting and staring at cakes that are waiting to be cut. For practice. I have a practical coming up, which means a two day test lasting a total of 7.5 hours including prep and clean-up. Many people in my class are having hourly bouts of hysteria because of this. I'm just sighing more than normal to exhale my stress...it's kind of working. We will get our grades around 8:30pm on July 3rd at which time we are allowed to leave for our break until July 29th. In the next week I also have to pack up my belongings so that virtually nothing will be left for me to take home after my 6 week, post-break classes are over and I head out to California to begin my externship.

That may have been worded in a confusing manner.

So, I'm a little anxious for the next week to be over and I can just hang out with my family and then back running around the midwest. Just ran out of cherries, time to start cutting...or take a nap.

I was dreaming of the past

Went to a BBQ at one of my chef's houses yesterday with some other girls from my group and another one of our chefs and his wife. Fantastic.

I think a not-so-fantastic side affect of being a baker is constantly smelling somewhat of sugar...I have more bug bites than I have in years. Every time I go outside I get a new one. Erg.

In two weeks I will be back in Wisconsin, Manitowoc for a few days, Chicago for a weekend, Madison for a couple days then Door County. I am pretty excited for a break that will be filled with...preparing for classes in August, my externship and reading unfathomable amounts. Oh and lots of family and friend time.

Here I was fated to reside

When not wandering around class commenting on our progress, our chef made us a little caprese appetizer...from scratch. Meaning fresh mozzarella aged approximately 1 hour before we ate it.

Not way over in a bucket seat

My daily homework involves making a marzipan rose, piping two rows each of rosettes, shells, reverse shells and pearls, and piping "Happy Birthday" and a border on a pipe circle. Then there's the regular preparing recipes and for class in general type stuff. It's pretty fantastic.

My Dad revamped his wine-site, and he's looking for some feedback. I think it's pretty beautiful.

Just Hold your Hand and You'd Understand

Hello Italy.

I was offered a spot as a delegate. That means I only have to pay for myself to get there.

It is now a joke with my friends that I was born onto a field of four-leaf clovers where I laid gobbling up herbaceous suerte as fast as I could.

Hot Child in the City

It's 12:30am, I just got done working a function at school and I'm putting on a skirt and short sleeve shirt and thinking I will be too hot in this humid as a rainforest weather. Egh.
