We're in this together

"Your flight has been canceled."
"umm so when can you get me into New York?"
"Wednesday"
"whhhaaaaAAAAATTTT? Why is it canceled?"
"Due to weather"

"Uh Dad, could you look up the weather in New York?"
"It's 78 and sunny...website says there are no delays."

A 1.5 hour drive to Milwaukee, a 2 hour trip on a shuttle to O'Hare, a canceled flight, being snuck into the last open seat on a flight four hours later, a delayed take-off, a delayed landing, a vast underestimation of how long it takes to get from JFK to Grand Central and finally getting on a train back to school to cap off a 19 hour day of travel. Beautiful. Things that went well were the fact that I have wonderful friends who picked me up at the train station, my luggage made it no problem and it wasn't overweight...although that still landed me sprinting in heels (that wouldn't fit in my luggage) dragging my 49.5 lb check-in and two carry-ons weighing about 30 lbs trying to catch airtrains and subways. At least I got a workout in. And I could not be happier to be back at school.

why ask why

I head back to New York tomorrow, after an extremely relaxing break where I did not see everyone I wanted to or do everything I had planned, but managed to catch my breath and catch up on some recreational reading. Of course, going back to school for 6 weeks followed by a quick cross-country road trip and the beginning of my internship is negating any relaxing effects achieved over the past three weeks. My stuff seems strewn across the state of Wisconsin, and certainly strewn around the room as I try to pack.

So far my search for housing in Berkeley has been unsuccessful, hopefully that will change by the time I get there.

The concept of a time in my life where I am not in a constant limbo of packing and unpacking seems more and more appealing every day.
